When asked to join the forming Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg-North (RCMN) in 1991 by Keith Sealover, Betty Dick learned how important being the 25th member was. She quickly learned that with her membership, Rotary International could grant the emerging club their very important charter.

Acknowledging the importance of her early years as a “farm girl”, she was already known for getting things done in her career as a realtor and in her personal life.

Yet she was also curious about what Rotary clubs did.

After joining RCMN she soon felt encouraged by the number of women also joining the Club.  She already knew Joyce Sealover.

These growing Rotary connections and her farmer’s attitude played a positive role in her career and added depth to her community contributions through Rotary.  She was active in the Fishing Derby with Keith and Joyce Sealover and often supported other service projects financially.

Betty worked for some 45 years selling real estate, managing rental properties  and purchasing rental properties.  As a real estate agent working originally for Jack Gaughn Realtors, she remembers fellow realtor and mogul, Jim Grandon once telling her, “You get assignments because people know you ‘Get’er Done!’”  Later, Grandon Real Estate merged with Jack Gaughn Realtors.

Betty knows the best rewards of Rotary membership are making excellent friends, making life-long contacts and making contributions to those in your community needing assistance. She acknowledges that in her heart Rotary is a major vehicle of people helping people in both small and greater ways.

For her Service Above Self is the positive attitude that benefits so many in Rotary and those helped by Rotary.
