At the October 2026 Mechanicsburg Borough Council meeting, the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg-North (RCMN) President, RCMN Rotarian and Mechanicsburg Mayor John Anthony and the Mechanicsburg Police Chief Robert Glenny announced the gift of three portable Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) as part of a $5000 District 7390 Club Grant. The AEDs will support Mechanicsburg police officers’ efforts in saving lives of people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
Chief Glenny expressed sincere appreciation to the Rotary Club for several reasons. “The AEDs can be a life-safer for someone experiencing heart issues and the automated systems help our police officers deliver care more quickly. Additionally, these three units function in the same way as the units used by Penn State Life Lion’s EMS crews which allows EMS to replace pads saving the Borough replacement costs.”
Monies raised by Rotary Club Mechanicsburg-North are part of a year-long celebration of the Clubs’ start 35 years ago when a charter was awarded to the Club by Rotary International (RI).
